The Lockdown Diary - DAY 43

Posted 6th May 2020 at 21:20 by Cormack
I embarked on Week Seven of the minimum twelve today, so nominally halfway. Dial-in and then a one-to-one with my manager on Teams which went pretty well, it seems I'm in fair spirits but then again we're making worthwhile contact regularly.

Me on Teams? I won't even go near FaceBook and I am embracing this chicanery...

Spent a lot of the evening in the kitchen, my own occupying therapy in the main, as I built a couple of lasagnes with a white sauce 'that I had prepared earlier' (the day before) which is turning me into Nigella only with a bit of sex appeal and without the plum-gobbed pater. Yesterday's blogpost was a big help as well. If there's one thing I've learnt over time, it's coping. Which is why after half of my sentence I have still yet to build my Lego Aston Martin, get down to the last unread book and make a tinfoil hat and urinate over a sheet shelter in the garden shed.

Today's recommended listening - Justin Hayward, Forever Autumn

Forgot all about this and it just popped up yesterday and with the War of the Worlds narrative interspersed. Outstanding.

Congruent triangles and differential calculus got an airing today - the second was me explaining it to my son and telling him it was way beyond what he needed at the minute but a quick skim over that I could use to verify his findings. Am a bit impressed at how ring-ready I was - there were cobwebs there but they blew away easy enough.

Lockdown, if nothing else, has settled me physically. Son took his bike out with Mrs C when walking the dog. He can only use the garden for limited effect when he's one for the open spaces, so that's a pleasant development.

Stay well
