The Lockdown Diary - DAY 19

Posted 12th April 2020 at 09:03 by Cormack
Late report for Saturday (it was Saturday, wasn't it?) as I had a quite pleasant day. I've baked the last two or three weekends and today, my daughter wanted in on the job, so we made the stock brownies and a double batch of easy biscuits. Bit of a twist by making the brownies with some Chocolate Orange in there but they're bang on. Her kitchen skills are improving no end so next I'll teach her to wash the dishes she creates...

In the fifties' role reversal we had going on in the...

The Lockdown Diary - DAY 18

Posted 10th April 2020 at 19:52 by Cormack
Good Friday today, the day Jesus wore his Corona of many thorns and went into ICU for three days, or was it two? The all-weather finals would have been today, it was what Jesus would have wanted...

The one day of superstition I follow and I don't eat any of the meat in the house that transmogrified into carpenter flesh at midnight and changes back later at the same time, so I've made a fish pie that frankly, is immense in oh so many ways. Mrs C has cut the front grass, the dog escaped...

The Lockdown Diary - DAY 17

Posted 9th April 2020 at 23:22 by Cormack
Day off today so I broke routine and had a lie in, got up about 10. A day of just running down the clock, which was excellent, bit of telly, light kitchen duties, singalongalexa, a sit in the back reading about the annus mirabilis of '70/71 for Barry Richards, a bit of a gab with my daughter who was asking about cricketing greats (my kids are well trained...) and I“ve just built two canneloni, one veggie, one not, and they were absolutely magical. I've said it before, but the time I have now where...

The Lockdown Diary - DAY 16

Posted 8th April 2020 at 22:55 by Cormack
The NHS Coronavirus texter has clearly peaked, nothing again today.

Routine day of work and I've got a few off now so had a cosy day tying up a few loose ends and "straightening the pictures", had a read in the sun in the garden for an hour and a bit and had a sea bass curry for tea that was bang on, what a piece of fish that is, so it's been a good day.

I realise also that this week, harking back to my childhood and also a shop shelf about a mile away, that...

The Lockdown Diary - DAY 15

Posted 7th April 2020 at 21:45 by Cormack
A couple of letters today which I covered on the Coronavirus thread. Seems to me Hancock wants to know, as my old man would have had it, 'the ins and outs of a duck's arse'. Yeah, no thanks.

Had a quiet day otherwise. The one milestone I did make today was 'personal shortest haircut ever'. Mrs C went at me with a set of clippers and since I'm a house convict, I asked for a No. 3 all over. No-one is going to see me until June and so just do it.

I look like one of...
