Back to the day on which events happened, largely because events didn't happen. Nod to DS, FTE and WM, whose sharpshooting keeps the US racing winnings ticking over nicely. I got to follow most of it, as you'll now see.

The huge tea I had last night plotted and exercised a brutal but essentially superficial revenge on me to the point that I didn't get to sleep until around 6am. but there are so many more you could choose. Won't be the last time I go to that well.

Aced some chemistry with my son - I could get that GCSE again even now - and my daughter was dealing with the Somme, so I could add a little bit of anecdotal context. We had a burger night. Some days you start awful (as the multiscurry along the hall will confirm) and turn it round with comforting acts of simplicity. Today was like that.

Stay well
