Twix brownies and race night.

A further bonus in that the cinder toffee (apparently a Welsh term; the English call it Hokey Pokey. Apparently England is easily confused with New Zealand and I was Welsh in the 70s in particular) is a firm favour with all, including Mrs C, who isn't a big chocolate fan but does love the more routine jellies and sugar-based stuff.

Easy dad points there, then.

Mrs C had a great idea about the race night which would make it a bit more of a show (and which I hadn't thought of) and which means no extra work for me so we've carried it over to #54. Six-race card and a further sister meeting on Bank Holiday weekend.

How big would this have been in a full-on internet and video age? Baby, I Don't Care was a bigger hit, Wendy James looked phenomenal...

...and I'm not putting up "Deck of Cards". I will, however, ramp up the cheese a bit and play a track that every 70s football fan knew a local version...

Little to add, to be honest. Had a couple of dial-ins, one where I didn't really learn anything but got a lot of reassurance out of, and the other which was the usual check-in that is invariably a bit of a mental boost....

The Lockdown Diary - DAY 51

#51 started with the zombie apocalpyse.

At 4.30 to 5am, we lost power. I assumed one of the appliances had tripped but when I actually got enough light to check the fortunately very accessible board, all were intact. The alarm, however, was extremely upset and was wailing away.

After a few minutes I noticed the early-rising builder who lives opposite was on the drive looking about, and the tone of our alarm had changed -or had it? I went outside and shared a few...

A bit 'Strike It Lucky' that, where a 92-year-old says his age and the audience applaud, basically saying 'well done for not dying'.
