The Lockdown Diary - DAY 26

Posted 19th April 2020 at 21:47 by Cormack
Very late update for Saturday. Everyone seems to have settled into a routine and although it was wet yesterday, it was biscuits and brownies again - used Fudges for the variation and made them into half sized bites. Daughter stepped into more parts of the job and again performed really well. Haven't launched the Lego and we had after-the-match pie, mash and gravy. That there was no match is not something over which I have control

Slept quite a bit, which suggests I needed it, randomly waking after an unplanned nap at 6pm. Very pleasant it was too. Nice, quiet day where everything got done in its own time. But for the killer virus it'd be great.

Watched Day of the Triffids on SyFy. Four hours of Dougray Scott getting knocked out sporadically. Didn't have the same plot as the book which strikes me as a more cautionary tale but then again it was written in the post-A-bomb era. (Bill keeps a journal in the book. See any parallels yet? )

As Dr Johnson said about the Giant's Causeway - 'worth seeing but not worth going to see'.

Stay well
