The Lockdown Diary - DAY 20

Mrs C and the kids blitzed the garden today. Son went spare on a tree that grew happenstance from a seed from a now disappeared tree that used to hang over from the house that backs on to our back. It is now an ex-tree.

Daughter went nuts at the spiky shrub in the corner which I quite like and the dog has a little 'den' in there. She also hacked at the neighbours' creeping brambles (on two of three sides) and Mrs C was in and out the same and like jobs with them.

I made a Lego ship in a bottle and a roast (separately). I started early today with the egg event which went really well - teens they might be but they don't mind getting their head in the game. I hid everything in plain sight, gave them directions in poem form and they got on with it. Was quite impressed with myself when I 'hid' two 5-packs of Oreo eggs on a busy bookshelf as they looked like a book spine in passing. As such I decided to give the garden a miss.

Hard to believe I'm a quarter of the way through my sentence all bar the shouting.

Edit - knew there was something else. Kids and I rang Mum and brother using one of those FaceTime or WhatsApp gimbles. Their first sight of my haircut, my first sight of my usually skinned brother's uncropped thatch.

He looks like Doc Brown. "Marty, it's your kids!"

Stay well.
