The Lockdown Diary - DAY 27
Posted 20th April 2020 at 20:21 by Cormack
The late show again, and it appears to be a facet, not of me, but of the rest of the household sleeping a lot later, the day kickstarting a lot later and my crashing out a lot earlier.
Sunday dinner I went full-on 'Kitchen Nightmare' but not in the Ramsey/Florida basket case and redemption way. I cooked a roast with roasters, veg and gravy, a full pasta bake, sauce and white sauce with other veg, and stove-top chicken, curry and rice. Three different main methods, four sauces, three different staples and used more pans than oven rings and indeed pans than I had.
The last hour of all this was utter bedlam and although there are only four of us, I may have cooked around nine meals all told. Bigger/second helpings were not in short supply and revisiting the overs today, Monday, saved me some effort and ended up convenient as I had a couple of quick review responses I needed for work.
Had a kickabout in the garden with my daughter as well, including a "Here's a bus!" thing my mates and I used to do as kids: we used to play on a field that backed on to a frequent bus route and there'd be times when playing 3-and-in when a natural lull would appear in the game and we could see a bus was approaching the stop a few hundred yards away on clear sight lines. We'd mobilise to create a fancy tableau move to entertain the top deck which would culminate in the goal attempt just as it passed. No bus but I'd put up the odd set-up where I'd tell her where my attempt was going so that she could go 'full length dive' at it.
Whatever stops you going (more) nuts...
No Bond Aston Martin yet. We chased our pleasures here...
Stay well
