The Lockdown Diary - DAY 63

Posted 26th May 2020 at 22:49 by Cormack
Whit Monday and the sun is cracking the flags? #63 appeared not to have read the script and as such I ended up out in the garden reading The Miracle of Castel di Sangro, which is living up to the UBF reviews. Some genuine laugh out loud moments interspersing an engaging narrative, I may actually save it for my 'garden book'.

Also had a nap/doze out there and took on a hint of colour which I'm quite pleased about.

Mrs C is a little off colour and with that, we're all...

The Lockdown Diary - DAY 62

CHIP DAY! and race night.

Everyone started off with a latish brunch which allowed me to get started on the chips (fryer cleaned late on the night before) and kill two birds with one stone.

I make a good chip. It's not a huge boast but it is true.

Did a running buffet before starting the meeting, the last race was a Plumpton hurdle, shout out to the regulars on this forum and once again, although I did get a leg in, I emptied my own pockets with a Hail...

The Lockdown Diary - DAY 61

Crispy M&M brownies are outstanding. They were set aside for #62's race night but the edge pieces are up for tasting and they were excellent, full crispies hold together and offer an extra something. I also put together a block of honeycomb that was my best yet, so I'm going full on Mary Berry, I might have to make a shirt out of some curtains.

I use a hand whisk usually but let my youngest learn the basics of whisking electrically without wearing the contents, and she performed...

The Lockdown Diary - DAY 60

Posted 23rd May 2020 at 22:52 by Cormack
Compounded the annoyance of a flat week, I only realised too late that my prescription is overdue. Am short of one item until Tuesday but I've decided not to give a monkey's - physically I'm in a position to miss it for a day or two, bad lad I know but were it an issue I'd be well on it as you know.

#61 will be Crispy M&M brownies and the oil change will mean #62 is a CHIP DAY! and a race night later on (the last day of the May meeting).

Last day of the half term...

The Lockdown Diary - DAY 59

Posted 21st May 2020 at 23:17 by Cormack
A two-part day today.

Felt a bit off in the morning, was on one dial-in and felt rough throughout, had another later on and I felt a bit better and the content improved my mental state a bit as well. Planned on going out the back again but had a call from a colleague asking for a bit of advice, which again added a bit of value to the day.

Bit of sun, burritos for tea, feeling a bit less fatigued.
