The Lockdown Diary - DAY 124

Saturday 26 July - DAY 124

Another day without internet but I managed a brief bit of access through son’s phone and backed me a winner, which is nice, given I can’t get my hands on it because I haven't had the option of cash handling since the middle of March. I had six quid on me for a bit while shielding and Mrs C had relieved me of that long since...

Recommended listening - Barrett Strong, Money (That's What I Want)

Mum will be moved tomorrow #125 and it will go ahead. The first step in her getting home. In typical fashion, she's been gregarious and popular about the ward while also standing her ground - one male nurse who thinks he's God's gift got an earful when he went to take blood from the back of her hand which she declined - she saw how uncomfortable it made Dad when they went in there to the point that he told her never to let anyone go in there, and my old man was a bloke who'd take his medicine.

"I'll tell you where I'm going to take it from".
"No, I don't think so. My hand, my rules. Now go away"

He was rostered again a day or two later. He didn't even get to approach, Mum just looked him in the eye and said "No". He left and someone else came and went in through the very good vein in her left arm as she advised.

You ever wonder where I get it from...?

Stay well
