The Lockdown Diary - DAY 119

Monday 21 July - DAY 119
Quiet day, limited work manageable as still no main internet - the 72 hours callback deadline approaches. Mrs C is on a busy week for online calls and so limits my own hotspot access.
Another good net in the evening, the boy's game continues to bed in and he is enjoying himself no end. He is a better batsman than I ever was – I accrued runs, but he scores. I had a few shots but he has a more complete book. He has eye and timing as well whereas I had to work with more limited eye although my timing was fair. He can’t defend like I did, nor does he have the soft hands I had, and I could dance a lot more confidently, but I had a lifetime of it and opened an awful lot – he’d bat a solid five or six and score plenty, would even do a job at four. Great potential and has a bit between his ears to develop it. He hasn't inherited my (disturbingly) big hands but he has a pair of safe hands.
Recommended listening - Amii Stewart, Knock On Wood
It appears the psychoreactive jukebox on Eastenders is taking over... If you've never noticed, the jukebox in the Vic on Eastenders is usually playing an onscreen, real time plot-appropriate song. Not sure if it's still the case but it was in the Mitchell era.
Stay well
