The Lockdown Diary - DAY 45

Posted 8th May 2020 at 15:13 by Cormack
I have outlasted Brian Clough's tenure at Leeds.

I had a bad, no, an off night on #44 and so was unable to sleep until late on. Nothing extravagant, just a blip that would affect me come the morning. Caught up a couple of hours' sleep mid-afternoon after getting a bit of work out the way and prepared for a four-day weekend.

Son asked me what happens if he's set work by school on the Bank Holiday. My reply which amused him was 'you won't see it because you're off'. As Oscar (was it? It's been a while) said, 'Don't go looking for work and work won't come looking for you'

He also asked for pasta bake for tea, which surprised me as it's something I've never cooked - if I'm baking pasta, I like the construction element of pipelines or storeys in canneloni and lasagne. Pasta bake is just disorder. Seems Mrs C was dripping poison into his ear so I did my own take on it and swipe me if I didn't manage to both impress (pasta bake, not hard to do a good 'un) and fill him. This was also after a lengthy bike hike with his sister, accompanied to some measure by Mrs C and the hound, so he had every right to be more hungry than usual.

I could have put up no end of tracks, absolute performance genius alongside what I want to describe as 'lead bass' in Tina Weymouth. One of the outfits that made the 80s salvageable (there was a lot of 'dire' to take it down, after all).

Top score 107 in Google Cricket, son stands on 132. He does have exceptional hand-eye co-ordination and I'm an old man, so no disgrace there .

The kids wanted to go out at 8 for the clapdown, which was well-attended all the way down our street. Had a gab over the width of the street with the woman opposite who although working from home, is in children's services and has never been so busy. Impacts you'd not consider until someone raises it.

Stay well
