The Lockdown Diary - DAY 31
Back to the day on which events happened, largely because events didn't happen. Nod to DS, FTE and WM, whose sharpshooting keeps the US racing winnings ticking over nicely. I got to follow most of it, as you'll now see.
The huge tea I had last night plotted and exercised a brutal but essentially superficial revenge on me to the point that I didn't get to sleep until around 6am. Took the day off work to catch up as there would be a kipping deficit somewhere, and it turned up late afternoon. Cracking nap, though - almost siesta-like in the temperature.
Alexa and I went down the route of recognising/remembering just how decent INXS's back catalogue is
Recommended listening - INXS, By My Side
but there are so many more you could choose. Won't be the last time I go to that well.
Aced some chemistry with my son - I could get that GCSE again even now - and my daughter was dealing with the Somme, so I could add a little bit of anecdotal context. We had a burger night. Some days you start awful (as the multiscurry along the hall will confirm) and turn it round with comforting acts of simplicity. Today was like that.
Stay well
